![]() ![]() It is also home to "Reptile Lagoon", the largest indoor reptile exhibit in the U.S. The site is a 350-acre (140 ha) compound that contains a miniature golf course, truck stop, 300-room motel, multiple souvenir shops, a campground, multiple restaurants, amusement rides, and a 200-foot (61 m) observation tower with a sombrero shaped observation deck. South of the Border is located at the intersection of I-95 and US 301/ US 501 just south of the border between North Carolina and South Carolina. ![]() The entire motif of South of the Border can be described as intentionally campy. The stop has since fallen on hard times as more modern hotel areas have grown along I-95. South of the Border is known for its roadside billboard advertisements, which begin many miles away from and incorporate a mileage countdown to the attraction itself. Its mascot is Pedro, a caricature of a Mexican bandido. The rest area contains restaurants, gas stations, a video arcade, motel, truck stop, a small amusement park, a mini golf course, shopping, fireworks stores, and a motocross training complex. The area is themed in faux-Mexican style. It is so named because it is just south of the border between North Carolina and South Carolina, and was the half way point to Florida from New York in the early days of motor travel. Nonetheless, the film has more than enough laughs and charm to get a fair recommendation from me".South of the Border is an attraction on Interstate 95 (I-95), US Highway 301 (US 301) and US 501 in Hamer, South Carolina, just south of Rowland, North Carolina. Perhaps if it had fully committed to one side then we may have had a stronger final product. ![]() It's super abrupt in the transitions and annoys you whenever the composition cuts back to it. Not only is the story barely interesting, but you feel the difference and disconnect between both sections. However, the other section is a loosely connected traditional narrative of sorts and this is where the experience is hindered. One section is just the traditional prankster situations that most fans are expecting to see which is where the movie shines the most. The production is kind of split up into two different sections. This strong sense of comedy is probably what keeps this feature in positive territory for me because it's weakest element is the plot if you can even call it that. Even if all the jokes and scenarios don't land, the movie is so swift in its pacing that the runtime rarely has a dull beat. There are a bunch of uproariously creative segments that got many laugh-out-loud moments out of me. Speaking of which, this is indeed a very funny flick. Brian Quinn, James Murray, Joe Gatto, and Sal Vulcano work really well together often leading to hilarious hijinx that makes them laugh nearly as much as it makes moviegoers laugh. On one hand, the four main stars of the show are simply irresistible for the amount of charisma and chemistry they all bring. The formula that the program has is a big, double edged sword for how this film is constructed. Their comedic antics were always a joy to watch, but I never imagined that they would make a movie surrounding the same guys. ![]() "Among the nearly endless supply of reality shows on television, one of the few that I actually got into was the mischievous but light-hearted Impractical Jokers. ![]()
